From Mortality to Immortality
God’s immortality is such that He is completely self-sufficient and He has neither need nor desire for anything outside of Himself. He does nothing out of fear or necessity, but all things are for the purpose of His pleasure.
Fear is both a function and product of mortality; but the Holy Ghost has been given to us as a foretaste and a guarantee that if and when we reach the end of faith, our mortality will be swallowed up by life and we shall be thrust back into the eternal pleasure of God from whence we came.
