You are specially invited to join us for this non-denominational annual convention of believers from various local churches and Christian groups in Canada. This year’s edition will be taking place in Edmonton.
“Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ” – Ephesians 3:8.
“That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” – Colossians 2:2-3.
Different eras of civilization in recorded history have been distinguished by the amount of wealth people came into individually and collectively; and the measure of wealth is an indicator of the standard and quality of life available to people at the time. The economy of the time determined the quality of life. This is true about the material economy and the less tangible riches of life like art, music, poetry and literature. The sum of these elements have always been a reliable indicator of the quality of the life of any people.
As believers in Christ, we are awake to the reality of a higher life than the natural i.e. the spiritual or supernatural life. This is the life that we have been born again into through our belief in Christ. The content and language of the New Testament strongly suggests to us that the spiritual life also, like the natural, has its own economy; and there is likewise a qualitative sense to the spiritual life one can enjoy. This means that although we as Christians are alive in our spirits through the new birth, we might be rich, poor, or barely getting by in terms of the measure and quality of spiritual life our soul is able to acquire and ultimately live out on the earth. It also translates into the collective such that a people, a nation, a church, or even an entire spiritual generation might be rich, poor or even wretched spiritually. As in the natural, the quality of the supernatural life that a spiritual people enjoy is determined by the measure of spiritual riches they are able to come into.
From the scriptures, we see that since the days of Paul the Apostle, following the advent of Christianity and the New Testament, the instrument of revelatory preaching has been ordained and used by God to transfer the riches of Christ to those who are alive in Christ. It is one thing to be alive in Christ, it is another thing for the soul (heart and mind) to be rich in Christ. Every kind of life has its peculiar riches and substances, and those who are alive in Christ should be endowed richly with the substances which constitute the spiritual nature of Christ. These spiritual substances of Christ, which are unsearchable by the natural man, must be revealed, and are given through the vehicle of inspired words. Paul says:
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” – Colossians 3:16.
In this year’s Canada Believers’ Convention, by the grace of God, we will be exploring deeply through the scriptures and by the help of the Holy Spirit, what things constitute the spiritual economy of Christ. We also anticipate a supernatural impartation of grace to begin to walk and live out the revealed life of Christ in our respective spheres of life.
